AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
MR. DON ANTHONY REGARDING THE MEETING OF THE WATER LINE
REQUIREMENTS FOR LOKEY SUBDIVISION, TRACTS E AND F, LOT 1,
BY WHICH MR. ANTHONY WILL FURNISH THE MATERIALS NECESSARY
TO MEET THE WATER LINE REQUIREMENTS AND THE CITY WILL
INSTALL THE LINE, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE AGREE-
MENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE FORM ATTACHED HERETO, MARKED
EXHIBIT "A" AND MADE A PART THEREOF; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:

SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a contract with Mr. Don Anthony regarding the meeting of the
water line requirements for Lokey Subdivision, Tracts E and F, Lot 1, by
which Mr. Anthony will furnish the materials necessary to meet the water
line requirements and the City will install the line, all as more fully
set forth in the agreement, in substantially the form attached hereto,
marked Exhibit "A" and made a part thereof.
SECTION 2. The necessity to execute the aforesaid agreement at
the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordin-
ance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction
but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and
necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and
that this ordinance take effect and be in full force a9d effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the 4, day of February, 1980.

THIS CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT made and entered into in duplicate
originals by and between Mr. Don Anthony and the City of Corpus Christi, Texas
regarding themeeting of the water line requirements for Lokey Subdivision,
Tracts E and F, Lot 1, by which Mr. Anthony agrees to furnish the materials
necessary to meet the water line requirements.
The materials shall consist of the following items:
1. 630 lineal feet of 8 inch cement asbestos pipe
2. 1 each fire hydrant
3. 1 each 6 inch gate valve
4. 1 each 8 inch gate valve
5. 2 each valve box adapter with water lid
6. 1 each 6 inch X 8 inch cross
All materials shall meet the requirements of the Water Division Distribution
Standards of the City of Corpus Christi. All materials shall be delivered
to the Water Division pipe storage yard located at 19th Street and Lipan Street.
The City will install the water line in Holly Road at Tracts E and F,
Lot 1, Lokey Subdivision.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
