YOUNG CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF LIFT STATION NO. 5 AND RENOVATION OF THE COUNTRY CLUB LIFT STATION WITH CONNECTING LINES DESIGNATED AS CONTRACT 3 IMPROVEMENTS TO THE OSO WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT, EPA PROJECT NO. C-48-1214-03, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL FROM THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY AND THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES; APPROPRIATING $2,650,000 OUT OF THE ole NO. 250 SANITARY SEWER BOND FUND, OF WHICH $2,588,508 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $61,492 IS FOR CONTIN- GENCIES AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 250-77-25, OSO-COUNTRY CLUB LIFT STATION RENOVATION - STAPLES LIFT STATION AND MAIN, CONTRACT 3; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: • SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with W. T. Young Construction Company for the construc- tion of Lift Station No. 5 and renovation of the Country Club Lift Station with connecting lines designated as Contract 3 Improvements to the Oso Waste- water Treatment Plant, EPA Project No. C-48-1214-03, subject to approval from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Department of Water Resources, all as more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract docu- ments on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of W. T. Young Construction Company, opened on December 5, 1979, said bid being the lowest and most advan- tageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $2,650,000 out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund, of which $2,588,508 is for the construction contract and $61,492 is for contingencies and incidental expenses, applicable to Project No. 250-77-25, Oso -Country Club Lift Station Renovation - Staples Lift Station and Main, Contract 3. SECTION 3. That the necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the sums hereinabove set forth so that construction may commence at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several 15353 • meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /..3 day of February, 1980. Douglas, Administrative Assistant Date February 26, 1980 Subject Ordinance No. 15353, Oso Wastewater Treatment Plant Contract Award Please correct the figures quoted in Ordinance No. 15353, passed and approved by the City Council February 13, 1980. This ordinance awarded the construction contract for Oso Wastewater Treatment Plant, Contract 3, to W. T. Young Construction Company. The appropriation should be as follows: "Appropriating $2,650,000 out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund, of which $2 ,,5Q8. is for the construction contract and $61,492 is for contingencies and incidental expenses Apparently this was a typographical error.
