POWERS, A TRACT OF LAND DESCRIBED AS EXCESS PROPERTY - MIDTOWN TRAFFIC EXCHANGE, BEING A PORTION OF BLOCK 2, CHAPMAN ADDITION, IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, FOR A CASH CONSIDERA- TION OF $21,658, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to convey by Special Warranty Deed to J. W. Powers and wife, June W. Powers, a tract of land described as excess property, Midtown Traffic Exchange, being a portion of Block 2, Chapman Addition, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, for a cash consideration of $21,658, all as more fully set forth in the Special Warranty Deed, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately authorize the execution of a deed in order to facilitate the sale of the above described parcel of land creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 20 day of February, 1980. W. Powers and wife, June W. Powers, the receipt of which is hereby ac- knowledged and for which no lien is retained, either expressed or im- plied, has this day sold and by these presents does GRANT, BARGAIN, SELL and CONVEY unto the said Mr. J. W. Powers and wife, June W. Powers all that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situ- ated in the County of Nueces, State of Texas, more particularly des- cribed as follows, to -wit: Being an irregularly shaped tract of land out of a portion of the tract of land conveyed to David 0. Cerraway by Jessie B. Furman by deed recorded in Volume 50, Page 294 of the deed records, Nueces County, Texas, which tract of land is further des- cribed by map of record in Volume 1, Page.19, Map Records, Nueces County, said tract being marked on said plat in the name of David 0. Carraway and being the south tract of land out of Block 2, as shown by said plat of the Chapman Addition, and a portion of Lot 2 as shown by abovementioned plat of record: Beginning at a point on the east right -df -way line of 6o.0 foot wide Tancahua Street said point being the northwest corner of Lot 5, Brayton Addition as shown by map of record in Volume Al Page 20, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, and the southwest corner of abovementioned Block 2, Chapman Addition for the beginning point of the tract of land here,- in ere-in described; Thence N. 01° 38' 20" W., along the east right-of- way line of said Tannnhu, Street, a distance of 16.39 feet to a point; Thence N. 80° 42' E., along a line that is 16.39 feet north of and parallel to the south boundary line of said Block 2, a distance of 156.39 feet to the P.C. of a circular curve to the left. Thence along the arc of said curve whose central angle is 41° 30', radius 106.26 feet, tangent 40.26 feet, a distance of 76.96 feet to the point of tangency; Thence N. 39° 12' E., a distance of 70.0 feet to a point on the west right-of-way line of 60.0 foot wide Carancahua Street; Thence S. 02° 18' E., along the west right-of-way line of said Carancahua Street, a distance of 90.0 • feet to a point being the southeast corner of above - 'mentioned Block 2; Thence S. 800 42T W., along the south boundary line of said Chapman Addition, a distance of 270.45. feet to the place of beginning and containing 0.167 acres, more or'less. Powers and wife, June W.
