AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
1976 REVISION, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 53-257,
SCHEDULE VIII, PARKING METER ZONES, SUBSECTION (a) METER
ZONE NO. 1, BY ADDING TWO ITEMS, SO AS TO EXTEND 10 -HOUR
METER ZONES TO PORTIONS OF MESQUITE STREET AND WILLIAM
STREET; AMENDING SUBSECTION (b) METER ZONE NO. 2, ITEM 1,
ANTELOPE STREET, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR EXCEPTION AS MORE
FULLY SET FORTH HEREINAFTER; AMENDING SUBSECTION (e) METER
ZONE NO. 5 BY ADDING THERETO ITEM 4, ANTELOPE STREET, AS
MORE FULLY PROVIDED HEREINAFTER; AMENDING SUBSECTION (c) OF
METER ZONE NO. 3, ITEM 9, MESQUITE STREET, AND ITEM 23,
WILLIAM STREET, AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 53-257, Schedule VIII, of the Code of
Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, 1976 Revision, be and the same is hereby
amended by amending subsection (a) Meter Zone No. 1, by adding the following
two items, so as to extend 10 -hour meter zones to said items:
(21) Mesquite Street (west side only) - Laguna Street
to William Street.
(22) William Street (south side only) - Mesquite Street
to Lower Broadway.
SECTION 2. Amending subsection (b) Meter Zone No. 2, Item 1, of
said Section 53-257 to hereafter read as follows:
(1) Antelope Street - North Upper Broadway to
North Tancahua Street, except for that
described under subsection (e) Meter Zone 5,
Item (4).
SECTION 3. Amending subsection (e) Meter Zone No. 5 of said
Section 53-257 by adding the following item, (4), to hereafter read as
follows:
(4) ANTELOPE STREET (north side only) - east one-third
of block, from North Upper Broadway to N. Carancahua
Street.
SECTION 4. Amending subsection (c) Meter Zone No. 3 of said
Section 53-257 by amending Item (9) to hereafter read as follows:
(9)
Mesquite Street - Laguna Street to Starr Street,
except that portion described in subsection
Meter Zone No. 1, Item (21).

SECTION 5. Amending subsection (c) Meter Zone No. 3 of said
Section 53-257 by amending Item (23) to hereafter read as follows:
(23) Williams Street - Lower Broadway to Water Street,
except that portion described in subsection (a)
Meter Zone No. 1, Item (22).
SECTION 6. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 7. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid
or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction
it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 8. The provisions hereinabove set forth shall become
effective from and after installations of meters with meter zone designations
at the respective locations.
