HomeMy WebLinkAbout15423 RES - 03/19/1980• • RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need for housing for the elderly and handicapped in its Housing Assistance Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council has supported the construction of assisted housing to satisfy this need; and WHEREAS, the LULAC has requested to purchase a 3.40 acre site, known as the Old Incinerator Site, for the development of approximately 94 units of assisted housing; and WHEREAS, the City has no apparent use for such site: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: 1) THAT the City Council hereby declares the Old Incinerator Site to be surplus except for a section on the southeast portion that shall be reserved for use by the City; and 2) THAT the City Council hereby affirms its intention to sell the Old Incinerator Site to LULAC at a price not to exceed $115,500, contingent on LULAC receiving Federal assistance for the development of Housing for the Elderly and Handicapped on said site; and 3) THAT the City Secretary be instructed to advertise the sale in accordance with applicable State Laws; PASSED AND APPROVED this the /g day of March , 1980.
