HomeMy WebLinkAbout15436 ORD - 03/26/1980• jkh:3-26-80;lst AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF THE FOLLOWING STREETS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO BE INCLUDED IN THE URBAN SYSTEMS PROGRAM: 1. South Staples Street (Four traffic signals), 2. Everhart Road (Three traffic signals), 3. Kostoryz Road (Right turn lanes at S.H. 358), 4. Weber Road (Right turn lanes at S.H. 358), 5. South Staples Street (Right turn lanes at S.H. 358), and 6. Saratoga Boulevard (South Staples to Everhart); AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: • SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given for submission of the following streets to the Department of Highways and Public Transportation for inclusion in the Urban System Program: 1. South Staples Street (four traffic signals), 2. Everhart Road (three traffic signals), 3. Kostoryz Road (right turn lanes at S.H. 358), 4. Weber Road (right turn lanes at S.H. 358), 5. South Staples Street (right turn lanes at S.H. 358), and 6. Saratoga Boulevard (South Staples to Everhart). SECTION 2. The necessity to submit the hereinabove described streets for inclusion in the Urban System Program at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the p2(O day of March, 1980.
