HomeMy WebLinkAbout15477 ORD - 04/16/1980• • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WHEREIN THE WOMEN, INFANTS, AND CHILDREN (WIC) PROJECT #38 OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI - NUECES COUNTY DEPART- MENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE WILL PAY TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI $25.00 PER WEEK FOR USE OF 2,880 SQUARE FEET OF SPACE AT THE HOUSING AU- THORITY BUILDING AT 3701 AYERS; ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A". BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a Memorandum of Agreement wherein the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Project #38 of the Corpus Christi - Nueces County Department of Public Health and Welfare will pay to the Housing Authority of the City of Corpus Christi $25.00 per week for use of 2,880 square feet of space at the Housing Authority building at 3701 Ayers; all as more fully set forth in the Memorandum of Agreement, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid Memorandum of Agreement at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 1(4? day of April, 1980. Box 9727 Corpus Christi, Texas 78408 MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT It is hereby agreed that the WIC Project #38 of the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Department of Public Health and Welfare, will render payment of twenty-five dollars ($25) per week, or thirteen hundred dollars ($1300) per annum, to the Housing Authority of the City of Corpus Christi for the use of 2,880 square feet of space in their building at 3701 Ayers. This space will be used each weekday morning, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for WIC participants who are returning each month for their nutrition education and food vouchers. The payment rendered by the WIC Project #38 to the Housing Authority, will cover costs of janitorial services and utilities. This agreement shall be effective on May 2, 1980 and shall continue until modified by mutual consent of the agreeing parties or until terminated by written notice to that effect from either party to the other.
