AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL 76, BLOCK
61 BEACH PORTION, AT THE UPDATED VALUE, IW CONNEC-
TION WITH THE BAYFRONT SCIENCE PARK PROJECT, NO.
209-76-1.3; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 209 COM-
MUNITY CONVENTION FACILITY BOND FUND THE SUM OF
$22,288, OF WHICH $22,000 IS FOR ACQUISITION AND
$288 IS FOR INCIDENTAL COSTS RELATED TO CLOSING,
TO SUPPLEMENT FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED BY
ORDINANCE 14608, PASSED AND APPROVED NOVEMBER 8,
1978; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute documents
necessary for the acquisition of Parcel 76, Block 61, Beach Portion, at the
updated value, in connection with the Bayfront Science Park Project, No. 209-
76-1.3, said Parcel 76 being described as follows:
Lot Nine (9), Block Sixty -One (61), Beach Portion
of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as shown by
the map or plat thereof, recorded in VOlume "A",
Page 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas, in-
cluding all improvements.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 209 Community
Convention Facility Bond Fund the sum of $22,288, of which $22,000 is for ac-
quisition and $288 is for incidental costs related to closing, to supplement
funds previously appropriated by Ordinance No. 14608, passed and approved November
8, 1978.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize immediate execution of necessary
documents and to appropriate sums necessary to acquire the aforesaid parcel for
the Bayfront Science Park Project creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance
or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity
exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule ant that this
ordinance be passed fianlly on the date of its introduction and take effect and

be in full force and effect from and after 'ts passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
