AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
1976 REVISION. AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING PARAGRAPH (4) OF
SECTION 36-49 SO AS REDUCE THE REQUIRED DEPOSIT WHEN
RENTING THE COLISEUM OR EXPOSITION HALL THROUGH A BIDDING
PROCESS FROM 100% TO 50%; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi,
1976 Revision, as amended, be amended by amending paragraph (4) of Section
36-49 to hereafter read as follows:
"(4) A certified check for twenty per cent must be attached to
each bid. The successful bidder shall pay the city an additional
thirty per cent.of the amount of the bid within ten days after the
bid is awarded, and shallpay the city the remaining fifty per
cent on or before the last business day preceding the event." •
SECTION 2. The necessity to amend the City Code as hereinabove
set forth at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an
imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction but`that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency
and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and
that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take
effect and be in full force and effect from andafterits passage, IT IS ACCORD -

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
