HomeMy WebLinkAbout15522 ORD - 05/07/198011111 vp:5/5/8O:ls`t AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 15129, PASSED AND APPROVED ON SEPTEMBER 19, 1979, PERTAINING TO STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS: ACCESS TO OLDER NEIGHBORHOODS (1) DRISCOLL DRIVE, FROM STATE HIGHWAY 44 (AGNES STREET) TO KENWOOD DRIVE; (2) BLUEBONNET AND KENWOOD DRIVE, FROM DRISCOLL DRIVE TO LONGVIEW WEST; (3) VILLA DRIVE FROM BALDWIN BOULEVARD TO QUAILE DRIVE, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO CORRECT AND ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, ALL AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED; AND DECLAR- ING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 15129, passed and approved on September 19, 1979, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 3 of said ordi- nance so as to correct and adjust the assessments levied against the abutting property owners for street improvements on the following streets: Access to Older Neighborhoods (1) Driscoll Drive, from State Highway 44 (Agnes Street) to Kenwood Drive; (2) Bluebonnet and Kenwood Drive, from Driscoll Drive to Longview West; (3) Villa Drive from Baldwin Boulevard to Quaile Drive, as hereinafter provided and as evidenced by the final assessment roll attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend Ordinance No. 15129 as herein provided so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting property owners involved in the street improvement project creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force VAINtlo° ►L.►11tU 15522 • and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 7 day of May, 1980. BRUCE AYCOCK, CITY ATTORNEY THE C OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL ACCESS TO OLDER NEIGHBORHOODS This project shall include improvements to the following streets: 1. Driscoll Drive from State Highway 44 (Agnes Street) to Kenwood Drive; 2. Bluebonnet and Kenwood Drives, from Driscoll Drive to Longview West; 3. Villa Drive from Baldwin Boulevard to Quaile Drive. These streets shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a.standard curb and gutter, 6" compacted subgrade, 8" compacted caliche base and 11 or 2 inch Type "D" Hot—Mix asphaltic pavement. Streets will vary in width from 28' to 48' depending on right—of—way and street usage. There will be 4' wide reinforced sidewalks and 6" thick reinforced driveways as shown on the construction plans or where requested -by the owners. - The assessment rates hatre been calculated in accordance with the latest paving policy adopted by the City.
