HomeMy WebLinkAbout15534 ORD - 05/14/1980vp:5/12/80:1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 15258, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON DECEMBER 12, 1979, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL AND ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE FOLLOWING STREET: PORT AVENUE (M.H. 102), from Agnes Street to Buford Street, AS HEREIN PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. • BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 15258, passed and approved by the City Council on December 12, 1979, be and the same is hereby amended by amend- ing Section 3 of said ordinance so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting property owners on the following street: Port Avenue (M.H. 102), from Agnes Street to Buford Street as herein provided and as evidenced by the final assessment roll attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend Ordinance No. 15258 as herein provided so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting property owners involved in the street improvement project creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 111 day of May, 1980. BRUCE AYCOCK, CITY ATTORNEY THE TY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS 15534 s t FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL MAY 14, 1980 SOUTH PORT AVENUE (M.H. 102), FROM AGNES STREET TO BUFORD STREET PROJECT NUMBER MR009(1) This project includes the construction of street improvement within the limits described and provides for rehabilating a 64' wide street within the existing right-of-way. Theimprovementsshall consist of removal of the existing median and overlaying the base with 3" hot -mix asphaltic concrete. Standard 4" thick sidewalks of varying width, 6" thick driveways and 6" curb 1' in width will be constructed according to the plans and specifications of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation. This project is being constructed jointly by the City and the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation and is an improvement assessment project. Abutting property owners are assessed in accordance with the assessment policy of the City of Corpus Christi. Based on the low bid submitted by Heldenfels Brothers, Inc. and the assessment policy, the assessment rates are as follows: Pavement Overlay 6" Curb Sidewalk Driveways no assessment @ $3.99 per L.F. @ $3.26 per S.F. @ $4.49 per S.F.
