AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT
NUMBER 2 TO FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION GRANT
AGREEMENT PROJECT NO. 6-48-0051-06, CONTRACT NUMBER
DOT-FA-78SW-8687, TO REVISE APPROVED AIRPORT DEVELOP-
MENT PROJECTS AND INCREASE THE GRANT AMOUNT TO
$1,361,250, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE AMEND-
MENT, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO
AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute Amendment
No. 2 to Federal Aviation Administration Grant Agreement Project No. 6-48-0051-06,
Contract Number DOT-FA-78SW-8687, to revise approved airport development
projects and increase the grant amount to $1,361,250, all as more fully
set forth in the amendment, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. The necessity to execute the aforesaid amendment at
the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordi-
nance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction
but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and
necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and
that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and
take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT
IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 0 day of May, 1980.

AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO GRANT AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (hereinafter
referred to _as the "FAA") has determined it to be in the interest
of the United States that the Grant Agreement between the FAA,
acting for and on behalf of the United States, and the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas (hereinafter referred to as the "Sponsor"),
accepted by said Sponsor on September 19, 197B, amended June 13,
1979, be further amended as herein provided.
NOW THEREFORE, WITNESSETH:
That in consideration of the benefits to accrue to the parties
hereto, the United States of America on the one part, and the
Sponsor on the other part, do hereby mutually agree that the
said Grant Agreement shall be and hereby is amended as follows:
1. By amending the approved airport development on page 1, to
read as follows:
Reconstruct and overlay air carrier ramp (approx.
35,000 S.Y.); install security gates; construct termi-
nal concourse security wall; install precision
instrument runway (R/W 17-35) marking.
2. To increase the maximum obligation of the United States as
set forth in paragraph 1 of the terms and conditions of the
Grant Agreement from $1,237,500 to $1,361,250.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have _caused this
Amendment to said Grant Agreement to be duly executed.

legal and binding obligation of the Sponsor in accordance with
the terms thereof.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally, on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
