ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $557,726 OUT OF THE NO. 270 PUBLIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT BOND FUND, OF WHICH $511,339 SHALL BE FOR THE PURCHASE OF LIFE SUPPORT COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT; $2,730 FOR A MICROWAVE PATH STUDY; AND $43,657 FOR LABOR, INVENTORY PARTS, AND VARIOUS MODIFICATIONS FOR INSTALLATION OF THE SYSTEM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $557,726 out of the No. 270 Public Safety Equipment Bond Fund, of which $511,339 shall be for the purchase of life support communications equipment, $2,730 for a microwave path study, and $43,657 for labor, inventory parts, and various mod- ifications for installation of the system. SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate the sum hereinabove des- cribed at the earliest practicable date in order that the public safety equipment be acquired without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the // day of June, 1980.
