HomeMy WebLinkAbout15672 ORD - 08/06/1980AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO ACQUIRE PARCELS 16, 17 AND 71, AT THE UPDATED VALUES, ALL IN CONNECTION WITH THE BAYFRONT SCIENCE PARK PROJECT, NO. 209-76-1.3; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 209 COMMUNITY CONVENTION FACILITY BOND FUND THE SUM OF $85,275.50 OF WHICH $82,250 IS FOR ACQUISITION AND $3,025.50 I5 FOR APPRAISAL SERVICES AND INCIDENTAL COSTS RELATED TO CLOSING, TO SUPPLE- MENT FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: • SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute documents necessary to acquire the following parcels, at updated values, all in connection with the Bayfront Science Park Project, No. 209-76-1.3: Parcels 16 and 17, owned by C.C. Real Estate Company, Inc., described as follows: Lots Three (3) and Four (4), Block Eighty -Nine (89), BEACH PORTION of the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by the plat recorded in Volume "A", Page 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas. Parcel 71, owned by Roland Garcia, described as follows: Lot Five (5), Block Sixty -One (61), BEACH PORTION of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as shown by the map or plat thereof, recorded in Volume "A", Page 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 209 Community Convention Facility Bond Fund the sum of $85,275.50, of which $82,250 is for acquisition and $3,025.50 is for appraisal services and incidental costs related to closing, to supplement funds previously appropriated. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize acquisition of the aforesaid parcels at the earliest practicable date in order that the Bayfront Science Park Project may continue without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduc- tion but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordi- nance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be 15672 • • in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 6944L-' day of August, 1980.
