AN ORDINANCE
FINDING THAT THE COST OF PROVIDING CITY'S INTRASTATE CHARTER
BUS SERVICE HAS SUBSTANTIALLY INCREASED: 'ESTABLISHING NEW
RATES FOR BUS CHARTER SERVICE COMPARABLE WITH FUEL SURCHARGE
TARIFFS ESTABLISHED BY THE RAILROAD COMMISSION: AMENDING
SECTION 2, ITEM (C), OF ORDINANCE NO. 9864, AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NOS. 10853, 11794, 12366, 13182, 13729, AND 14475,
TO BE COMPARABLE WITH SAID TEXAS RAILROAD COMMISSION FUEL
SURCHARGE.TARIFF, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the cost of providing City intrastate charter bus service,
including operators' salaries and bus maintenance, has increased substantially
since August 30, 1977; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Railroad Commission as of November 28, 1979, issued
an amended fuel surcharge tariff applicable to charter bus service; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City of Corpus Christi that its rate
schedule be comparable with the rates and tariffs established by the Texas
Railroad Commission:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the rate schedule for charter service be amended to
include a fuel surchage tariff of five and three tenths (5.3%) percent.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective from and after its
passage.
SECTION 4. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this
ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
