HomeMy WebLinkAbout15712 ORD - 08/20/1980vp:r1:8/20/80 VIP AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO REPROGRAM $25,000 OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS OUT OF THE FIFTH AND SIXTH YEAR GRANT UNDER SEC. 570.201(f)(2). THESE FUNDS WILL BE USED IN CDBG ELIGIBLE AREAS FOR DEMOLITION DEBRIS CLEARANCE, STREET REPAIRS, AND ALL OTHER ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to reprogram $25,000 of Community Development Block Grant Funds out of the Fifth and Sixth Year Grant under Sec. 570.201(f)(2). These funds will be used in CDBG eligible areas for demolition debris clearance, street repairs, and all other eligible activities. SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize the City Manager to reprogram Community Development Block Grant funds as aforesaid creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three sever- al meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emer- gency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 20 day of ATTEST: y Secretary � APP OVED: DAY OF AUGUST, 1980: J.
