HomeMy WebLinkAbout15728 ORD - 08/27/1980• • • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH COASTAL BEND CONSULTING SPECIALITIES FOR REMOVAL OF DEBRIS ACCUMULATED AS A RESULT OF HURRICANE ALLEN IN THE DESIGNATED AREA A WHICH IS BOUNDED BY UP RIVER ROAD, RAND MORGAN ROAD, CALLICOATE ROAD AND THE CORPORATE CITY LIMITS TO THE SOUTH OF THE AREA; APPROPRIATING $27,000 OUT OF THE NO. 102 GENERAL FUND RESERVE, ACTIVITY 4299, CODE 490; AND DECLARING AN EMER- GENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: • SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Coastal Bend Consulting Specialities for removal of debris accumulated as a result of Hurricane Allen in the designated Area A which is bounded by Up River Road, Rand Morgan Road, Callicoate Road and the corporate city limits to the south of the area. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $27,000 out of the No. 102 General Fund Reserve, Activity 4299, Code 490. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid contract at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emer- gency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 21 day of August, 1980.
