HomeMy WebLinkAbout15758 ORD - 09/10/1980AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CHANGE ORDER TO THE CONTRACT WITH GOOLSBY BUILDING CORPORATION FOR IM- PROVEMENTS TO THE WESTSIDE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT WHICH PROVIDES FOR MODIFICATIONS TO THE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE FOR THE DIGESTER ROOF, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; APPROPRIATING $20,256 OUT OF THE NO. 250 SANITARY SEWER BOND FUND, SUBJECT TO APPRO- VAL OF THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES AND THE ENVIRON- MENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 250-77-18, WESTSIDE PLANT IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a change order to the contract with Goolsby Building Corporation for improvements to the Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant which provides for modifications to the installation procedure for the digester roof, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriatedthe sum of $20,256 out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund, subject to approval of the Texas Department of Water Resources and the Environmental Protection Agency, applica- ble to Project No. 250-77-18, Westside Plant Improvements. SECTION 3. That the necessity to execute a change order to the contract with Goolsby Building Corporation as outlined above and to appropriate the sums necessary to construct the improvements at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the A day of September, 1980.
