HomeMy WebLinkAbout15764 ORD - 09/17/1980• 1p:9-15-80;1st AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 26 TO THE CONTRACT WITH B -F -W CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CON- VENTION CENTER WHICH PROVIDES FOR MODIFICATIONS TO THE SOUTHWEST SERVICE DRIVE; APPROPRIATING $7,840.55 OUT OF THE NO. 209 COMMUNITY CONVENTION FACILITY BOND FUND APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 209-76-1.3, CONVENTION CENTER CONSTRUCTION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute Change Order No. 26 to the contract with B -F -W Construction Company for construction of the Corpus Christi Convention Center which provides for modifications to the southwest service drive, as more fully set forth in the change order, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $7,840 out of the No. 209 Community Convention Facility Bond Fund applicable to Project No. 209-76-1.3, Convention Center Construction, for the aforesaid modifications. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid change order and appropriation of the sums set forth to effect the modifica- tions to the southwest service drive at the Corpus Christi Convention Center at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of that City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /7 day of September, 1980.
