AMENDING ORDINANCE NO: 8127, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SUBSECTION 552.11, BY DELETING THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH, WHICH READS AS FOLLOWS: "EFFECTIVE JANUARY 26, 1981, STEP A-1 IN SALARY SCHEDULE A AND B SHALL BE DELETED. EMPLOYEES REMAINING IN STEP A-1 ON THAT DATE, WILL BE ADVANCED TO STEP A IMMEDIATELY.";" PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. - BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 8127, as amended, be and the same , is hereby amended by amending Subsection 552.11, by deleting the following paragraph, which reads as follows: "Effective January 26, 1981, step A-1 in salary schedule A and B shall be deleted. Employees remaining in step A-1 on that date, will be advanced to step A immediately." SECTION 2. The above change shall be effective from and after passage of this ordinance. SECTION 3. The necessity to maintain at all times an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter.rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordi- nance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO - ORDAINED, this the 24- day of September, 1980.
