TEXAS:
AN ORDINANCE
•
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3658, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING
SECTION 250 CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR ALL POSITIONS IN
THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE BY ESTABLISHING AND BY CHANG-
ING CERTAIN POSITION TITLES, CODES AND CLASS GRADES
PROVIDING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 3658, as amended, be and the same
is hereby amended by amending Section 250, Classification Plan for All
Positions in the Classified Service, by amending Subsection 251 to provide
for the following position change:
GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND CLERICAL
CLASS CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE
181 From: Lead Programmer Analyst 33
To: Programming Manager
SECTION 2. Amending Subsection 252, Custodial and Guard, by
amending the following.position title:
CUSTODIAL AND GUARD
CLASS CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE
206 From: Safety Security Officer 16
To: Safety Security Officer I
and by adding the following position:
CUSTODIAL AND GUARD
CLASS CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE
210 Safety Security Officer II 18
SECTION 3. Amending Subsection 254, Fiscal and Accounting, by
amending the following position title:
FISCAL AND ACCOUNTING
CLASS CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE

and by adding the following position title, grade and class:

SECTION 4. Amending Subsection 257, Labor and Trades, by re-
classifying the position grades of the following positions:
LABOR AND TRADES

SECTION 5. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid '
or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction,
it shall not affect any 'other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word,
or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 6. The effective date of the above changes shall be from
and after the passage of this ordinance.
SECTION 7. The necessity to maintain at all times an efficient
administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance
or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity
exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this or-
dinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED, this the f k day of October, 1980.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of•the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
