HomeMy WebLinkAbout15836 ORD - 10/22/1980AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1961 STORM DRAINAGE MASTER PLAN ADOPTED ON NOVEMBER 6, 1963 BY ALLOWING STORM RUNOFF FROM APPROXIMATELY 270 ACRES SOUTH OF SARATOGA BOULEVARD BETWEEN COUNTY ROAD 13 AND RODD FIELD ROAD IN THE J -C DRAINAGE BASIN TO DRAIN INTO THE WOOLRIDGE/ STAPLES DRAINAGE BASIN AS BETTER DESCRIBED IN THE ATTACHED EXHIBIT, ALL SUBJECT TO THE LAND OWNER INVOLVED PROVIDING THE NECESSARY RIGHT OF WAY AND CONSTRUCTING THE NECESSARY DRAINAGE DITCH AND STRUC- TURES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the 1961 Storm Drainage Master Plan adopted on November 6, 1963 be amended by allowing storm runoff from approximately 270 acres south of Saratoga Boulevard between County Road 13 and Rodd Field Road in the J -C drainage basin to drain into the Woolridge/Staples drainage basin as better described in the attached exhibit. Provided, however, this amendment shall not take effect until the owner of said 270 acres grants such right-of-way as the City Engineer deems necessary to accommodate the storm runoff and drain it into the Wooldridge/Staples drainage basin and constructs such drainage ditch outfalls and structures the City Engineer deems necessary to accomplish such drainage. SECTION 2. The necessity to amend the 1961 Storm Drainage Master Plan adopted on November 6, 1963 as hereinabove set forth at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency,and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having re- quested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 22 -lay of October, 1980.
