AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER
NO. 1 TO THE CONTRACT WITH ISLES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE LAMAR SCHOOL AREA STREET PRO-
JECT, WHICH PROVIDES FOR ADDITIONAL STORM SEWER INLETS
ON 25TH STREET, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH CHANGE
ORDER IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARK-'
ED EXHIBIT "A"; APPROPRIATING $7,707.85 OUT OF THE NO.
220 STREET BOND FUND FOR THE AFORESAID CHANGE ORDER,
APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220-77-2.7, LAMAR SCHOOL
AREA STREET IMPROVEMENTS, UNIT 2; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute Change
Order No. 1 to the contract with Isles Construction Company for improvements
to the Lamar School Area Street Project, which provides for additional storm
sewer inlets on 25th Street, all as more fully set forth in the Change Order,
a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked
Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the -No. 220
Street Bond Fund the sum of $7,707.85 for the aforesaid Change Order, appli-
cable to Project No. 220-77-2.7, Lamar School Area Street Improvements, Unit 2.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid
Change Order at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and
an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such
emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter
rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and take effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINO.YSO ORDAINED,
this the 29 day of October, 1980.

3) Add 61 L.F. of 6" Type "A" header curb at the
Contractor's quoted price of $12.60/L.F. 768.60
TOTAL $7,707.85

-Items No. 1 & 2 are due to changes in street grades as a result of a benchmark that
was recorded in error. Item No. 3 was requested by the property owner in order to
expand his parking area and shall be paid at 1007 to the City through assessments.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
