HomeMy WebLinkAbout15872 ORD - 11/12/1980• AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A•CHANGE ORDER TO THE CONTRACT WITH B -F -W CONSTRUCTION'COMPANY FOR CONSTRUC- TION OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI COMMUNITY CONVENTION CENTER WHICH PROVIDES FOR MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL ROUGH -IN WORK IN THE KITCHEN AND CONCESSION AREA, ALL AS MORE FULLY DESCRIBED IN THE CHANGE ORDER, A SUBSTANTIAL -COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, -`.MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; APPROPRIATING $83,951 OUT OF THE NO2•:209-COMMUNITY CONVENTION CENTER BOND FUND APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 209-76-1.3, CONVENTION CENTER CONSTRUCTION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a change order to the contract with B -F -W Construction Company for construction of the Corpus Christi Community Convention Center which provides for mechanical and electrical rough -in work in the kitchen and concession area, all as more fully set forth in the change order, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto 4 and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $83,951 out of the No. 209 Community Convention Center Bond Fund applicable to Project No. 209-76-1.3, Convention Center Construction. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the change order and appropriation of the sums described hereinabove in order that the construc- tion may continue without delay at the Corpus Christi Community Convention Center creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolu- tion shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the sus- pension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in.full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /2' day of November, 1980.
