HomeMy WebLinkAbout15876 ORD - 11/12/1980AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCELS 201 AND 327 FOR THE CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH PARK SITES, AREA "B", PROJECT 291-77-2, AT THE CURRENT VALUES; AP- PROPRIATING OUT OF THE 291 PARK BOND FUND $61,876.75, TO SUPPLEMENT PRIOR APPROPRIATIONS, FOR THE ACQUISI- TION OF THE ABOVE PARCELS, FOR A COMBINED APPROPRIA- TION OF $97,000 OF WHICH $95,680 IS FOR ACQUISITION AND S1,320 IS FOR INCIDENTAL COSTS RELATED TO CLOSING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute docu- ments necessary for the acquisition of Parcels 291 and 327 for the Corpus Christi Beach Park Sites, Area "B", Project 291-77-2, at the current values, the said property being owned by Paul R. Turnbull, Jr., and being described as Lots 2, 4, 6, and 8, Block 71, Brooklyn Addition, and the property des- cribed as Lot 11 and the North 10 feet of Lot 9, Block 411, Brooklyn Addition, being"owned by Fiesta Del Sol, Inc., situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $61,876.75 out of the No. 291 Park Bond Fund, to supplement prior appropriations, for the acquisition of the aforesaid parcels, for a total appropriation of $97,000, of which $95,680 is for acquisition and $1,320 is for incidental expenses related -to closing. SECTION 3. The necessity to acquire the aforesaid parcels at the earliest practicable date in order that the Corpus Christi Beach Park Sites, Area "B", Project may continue without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at;three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, M1CROFILMED rS€P 2 7 7984 15876 having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /Z day of November, 1980.
