HomeMy WebLinkAbout15908 ORD - 11/26/1980AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SIX, 12 PASSENGER VANS FROM VISTA CHEVROLET, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION ADMIINISTRATION, AS PROVIDED IN THE 1978 UFA CAPITAL GRANT PRO- JECT NO. TX -05-0036 FOR $58,729; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO.218 TRANSIT BOND FUND FOR PROJECT NO. 218-72-4 TRANSIT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS (1978), AN AMOUNT OF $58,729 FOR THE SAID PURCHASE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given, subject to Approval by the Urban Mass Transportation Administration, for the purchase of Six, 12 passenger vans from Vista Chevrolet for $58,729 as provided for the 1978 UMFA Capital Grant Project No. TX -05-0036. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 218 Transit Bond Fund for Project No. 218-72-4, Transit System Capital Improvements (1978), the amount of $58,729 for the purchase of said vans. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the contract and to provide the necessary funds for the purchase of said 12 passenger vans creates a public emer- gency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and haivng requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 2.4 day of November, 1980.
