APPROVING THE SALE OF CORPUS CHRISTI LIMOUSINE SERVICE
TO MESSRS. REYNALDO T. LOPEZ AND CLAUDIO HERRERA DBA
LIMOUSINES UNLIMITED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, by authority of Ordinance No. 15430, passed and.approved by
the City Council on March 26, 1980, a five-year franchise was granted to
Corpus Christi Limousine Service to operate limousines along and over the public
streets, alleys and thoroughfares of the City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the terms of said franchise grant, the
said franchise and the permits held by Corpus Christi Limousine Service may
be sold, transferred and inherited, but prior approval by the City Council
must be obtained prior to any sale or transfer; and
WHEREAS, the Corpus Christi Limousine Service owners have submitted
in writing to the City Council request for such approval of sale:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That approval is hereby given for the sale of Corpus
Christi Limousine Service to Limousines Unlimited under the terms of the
franchise granted by Ordinance No. 15430, and fully subject to the terms and
conditions of said franchise ordinances.
SECTION 2. The necessity to approve the sale of Corpus Christi
Limousine Service as hereinabove set forth at the earliest practicable date
creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the
suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on
the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
