AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 15438, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE
NO. 15473, SO AS TO DELETE IN THE CAPTION, THE SECOND
INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH AND SECTION 1 THEREOF THE WORDS
"SUBJECT TO REPLATTING OF THE BLOCK" AND THE WORDS
"DEDICATION OF A 20' UTILITY EASEMENT, INCLUDING, VEHI-
CULAR ACCESS TO THE NORTH ONE-HALF OF THE EASEMENT FOR
ELECTRICAL SERVICE" AND IN LIEU THEREOF INSERTING THE
WORDING "SUBJECT TO REPLATTING OF THE BLOCK AND THE
ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNER, AT HIS EXPENSE, REROUTING A
4" CITY GAS LINE, AN 8" SANITARY SEWER LINE AND A CENTRAL
POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY CONDUIT"; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 15438, as amended by Ordinance
No. 15473, passed and approved on the 16th day of April, 1980, be and the
same is hereby amended by deleting in the caption, the second introductory
paragraph and Section 1 thereof the words "subject to replatting of the
block" and the words "dedication of a 20' foot utility easement, including
vehicular access to the north one-half of the easement for electrical
service" and in lieu thereof, inserting the wording "subject to replatting
of the block and the abutting property owner, at his expense, rerouting a
4" City gas line, an 8" sanitary sewer line and a Central Power and Light
Company conduit," said caption to hereafter read as follows:
"CLOSING THE ALLEY BETWEEN TWIGG STREET AND MANN
STREET IN BLOCK 9, WATER BEACH ADDITION, SUBJECT
TO REPLATTING OF THE BLOCK AND THE ABUTTING PRO-
PERTY OWNER, AT HIS EXPENSE, REROUTING A 4" CITY
GAS LINE, AN 8" SANITARY SEWER LINE AND A CENTRAL
POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY CONDUIT; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY."
Said second introductory paragraph to read:
"WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council after such
hearing that it would best serve the public convenience and necessity to
close the alley within the limits hereinabove set forth for use as a public
alley, subject to replatting of the block and the abutting property owner, •
at his expense, rerouting a 4" City gas line, an 8" sanitary sewer line and
a Central Power and Light Company conduit:"
Said SECTION 1 to hereafter read as follows:
"SECTION 1. That the public alley between Twigg Street and Mann
Street in Block 9, Water Beach Addition, situated in. -the City of Corpus
Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and the same is hereby closed for public

use and abandoned to the abutting property owners, subject to replatting
of the block and the abutting property owners, at his expense, rerouting
.a 4" City gas line, an 8" sanitary sewer line and a Central Power and Light
Company conduit."
SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend Ordinance No. 15438,
as amended by Ordinance No. 15473, as herein provided, creates a public
emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of
the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be
read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having
declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the
suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the
21.- day of December, 1980.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally.on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
