AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACTS WITH THE NUECES
COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT TO ENABLE GEORGE MOFF,
CHIEF APPRAISER FOR THE DISTRICT, AND DIANA GONZALES,
SENIOR CLERK, TO REMAIN ON THE CITY'S PAYROLL AND
RETIREMENT SYSTEM WITH 100% OF THE COST THEREOF BEING
PAID BY THE DISTRICT, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN
THE CONTRACTS, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF EACH BEING ATTACH-
ED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBITS "A"
AND "B"; AND•DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute contracts
with the Nueces County Appraisal District to enable George Moff, Chief Apprai-
ser for the District, and Diana Gonzales, Senior Clerk, to remain on the City's
payroll and retirement system with 100% of the cost thereof being paid by the
District, all as more fully set forth in the contracts, a substantial copy of
each being attached hereto,a d made a part hereof, marked Exhibits "A" and B.
SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution of the contracts
aforesaid at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and
an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three seve-
ral meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency
and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of said Charter
rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 24th day of

CONTRACT FOR SERVICES OF EMPLOYEE
On this the 30th day of September 19 80 , the Nueces County Appraisal
District (hereinafter called "District") and City of Corpus Christi (hereinafter
called "Employer") enter into the following agreement:
Purpose
The parties enter this agreement in order to enable the District to obtain the
services of George H. Moff (hereinafter called "Employee") without said employee
losing benefits' accrued under Employer's retirement benefit plan.
Term
The parties agree that the provisions of this contract shall be effective from
10-5-80 to cancellation 76.4
Services to be Rendered
Employer agrees that Employee shall serve as Chief Appraiser for District and
perform all duties incumbent upon that position. Employer agrees that Employee shall
be solely responsible to District in his performance of his employment with said
District.
Payment
District agrees to pay Employer such sum as is established in District's budget
for the position in which Employee is used by said District. Employer agrees to pay
Employee the amount budgeted by District for compensation of said employee, but may
add such additional compensation that Employer deems appropriate for duties performed
for Employer.
Miscellaneous
The parties agree that Employee's service to both governmental entities is in
the best interests of the State of Texas. There is presently no conflict between
the Employee's employment with District and his employment with Employer. Employer -
agrees that Employee will not be asked to perform any task for Employer which would
conflict with Employee's duties for District.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
