AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE PLATTING ORDINANCE, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE
NO. 4168, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION III, BY DELETING
SUBSECTION A-1, FILING FEES, IN ITS ENTIRETY AND IN LIEU
THEREOF ADOPTING NEW PROVISIONS; DELETING SUBSECTION C(5)
IN ITS ENTIRETY AND IN LIEU THEREOF SUBSTITUTING A NEW
SUBSECTION, SAID AMENDMENTS.TO INCREASE FILING FEES ON
PRELIMINARY PLATS; TO PROVIDE FOR RECORDING FEES TO BE
DETERMINED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE FINAL PLAT; TO PROVIDE
THAT PLAT DOES NOT EXPIRE AFTER SIX MONTHS AS LONG AS
,CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY; AND TO INCREASE FILING FEES FOR
ONE -LOT PLATS, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH HEREINAFTER;
AMENDING SECTION VI, SUBSECTION D, BY CHANGING THE EXISTING
TEXT TO INCREASE THE FILING FEE•FROM $21 TO $50 FOR ONE -LOT
PLATS -IN PARAGRAPHS 2, 4(7); AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Platting Ordinance, adopted by the City Council
by Ordinance No. 4168, as amended, be amended by amending Section III - PROCEDURE
AND PLAT REQUIREMENTS, by deleting Subsection A-1, Filing Fees, in its entirety"
and in lieu thereof adopting the fallowing provisions:
"A71. FILING FEES.
1. Preliminary Plat Filing Fee - Each preliminary plat sub-
mitted shall be accompanied by a filing fee of $20:00. No
action by the Planning Commission shall be valid until
•appropriate fees have been paid.
2. Final Plat Filing Fee - Each final plat submitted shall be
accompanied by a filing fee of $10.00 plus $1.00 per lot
or $4.00 per acre when such lot is over 11,000 square feet.
Both fees shall be applied to replats or to preliminary and
final plats that are submitted at the same time. No action
by the Planning Commission shall be valid until appropriate
•
fees have been paid.
3. Recording Fee - Fees to record approved final plats with
the clerk of the appropriate county shall be assessed with
the final plat filing fee. No action by the Planning
Commission shall be valid until recording fees have been
paid.

4. Fee Refund and Exceptions - Filing fees shall not be refunded
for any plat that is withdrawn or disapproved. Recording
fees shall be refunded if the final plat is withdrawn or
disapproved by the Planning Commission. These fees shall
not apply to any plat prepared under Section VI, Subsection
B (one-lot plats) of this Ordinance."
SECTION 2. That Subsection C. FINAL PLAT, paragraph 5 be deleted
in its entirety and in lieu thereof, adopting the following provisions:
"5. Approval of a final plat shall be valid for a period of six
(6) months. If improvements are not in place or construction
initiated on said improvements such plat approval shall
expire. The Subdivider, Engineer, Surveyor or Agent may
submit a written request for a time extension of six•(6)-
months. Such request shall be submitted no later than the
last scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission immediately
prior to the dateof expiration of said plat approval.
However, any final plat conditionally approved will not be
considered for a time extension and in no case will there be
any exception to these provisions."
SECTION 3. That Section VI, Subsection D, be amended by changing
the existing text to increase the filing fee from $21.00 to $50.00 for one-lot
plats in paragraphs 2, 4(7).
SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid
or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction
it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent
of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its
purpose.
