AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL 3 IN CON-
NECTION WITH THE CABANISS ACRES STREET IMPROVEMENTS,
DORADO STREET TO HOLLY ROAD; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE
NO. 162 FEDERAL -STATES GRANT FUND, PROJECT NO.
162-4744-501, ACTIVITY 4744, CODE 501, THE SUM OF
$1,037, OF WHICH $825 IS FOR ACQUISITION AND $212 IS
FOR INCIDENTAL COSTS RELATED TO CLOSING; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute documents
necessary for the acquisition of Parcel 3 in connection with the Cabaniss
Acres Street improvements, Dorado Street to Holly Road, said parcel being more
particularly described as follows:
Being a tract of land out of Lot 12, Block 9, Cabaniss Acres
Subdivision as shown by map of record in Volume 10, Page 20,
Map Records, Nueces County, Texas and more particularly des-
cribed by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a point being the most northerly corner of above-
mentioned Lot 12;
Thence S. 61' 30' 00" E., along the northeasterly line of Lot
12, a distance of 5.0 feet to a point;
Thence S. 29' 00' 00" W., along a line that is 5.0 feet south-
east of and parallel to the northwesterly line of Lot 12, a
distance of 150.0 feet to a point;
Thence N. 61' 30' 00" W., a distance of 5.0 feet to a point,
said point being on the northwesterly line of Lot 12;
Thence N. 29° 00' 00" E., along the northwesterly line of Lot
12, a -distance of 150.0 feet to the point of beginning and.'
containing 750 square feet, more or less.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 162
Federal -States Grant Fund, the sum of $1,037, for Project No. 162-4744-501,
Activity 4744, of which sum $825 is for acquisition and $212 is for inci-
dental costs related to closing.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize acquisition of the afore-
said parcel or tract of land for the project described creates a public
emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the

date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be
read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having
declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the
suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
