HomeMy WebLinkAbout16086 ORD - 03/04/1981jkh:1-13-81-1st AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT WITH LOCKWOOD, ANDREWS & NEWNAM, INC., FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, WHICH WILL PROVIDE FOR AN INCREASED FEE FOR THE DESIGN OF THE FIXED BASE OPERATOR RAMPS RESULTING FROM INCREASED CONSTRUCTION COSTS AND FOR INTERIM PAYMENTS DURING THE DESIGN PHASE, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE AMENDMENT, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; APPROPRIATING $17,355 OUT OF THE NO. 245 AIRPORT BOND FUND FOR ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING FEES APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 245-77-3, ADDITIONAL RAMP SPACE CONSTRUCTION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute an amendment to the contract with Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc., for engineer- ing services to be performed at the Corpus Christi International Airport,, to provide for an increased fee for the design of the Fixed Base Operator Ramps resulting from increased construction costs and for interim payments during the design phase, all as more fully set forth in the amendment, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $17,355 out of the No. 245 Airport Bond Fund for additional engineering fees applicable to Project No. 245-77-3, Additional Ramp Space Construction. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the amendment to the contract and to appropriate the sums described hereinabove creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension ' of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspen- sion of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and M E1LMED 16086 SIP 2 71984 after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of January, 1981. BRUCE AYCOCK, CITY ATTORNEY Bydir t ij Assistant Citi+ THE C" Y OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES THE STATE OF TEXAS 0 COUNTY OF NIECES 0 The City of Corpus Christi, hereinafter called "City", and Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc., hereinafter called "Engineer', agree to the following amendment to the contract for engineering services approved by Ordinance No. 14267 executed on June 17, 1978 and further amended on December 20, 1979 by the passage of Ordinance No. 15278: 1. Fees for Basic Services The fee for performing the basic engineering services for Item 1D, Fixed Base Operator Ramps, is adjusted as follows: Construction Contract Original Adjusted Budget Section Fee Fee $610,000 3.A.4 $22,800 $40,155 2. Payment of Fees for Basic Services The City and the Engineer agree that all design fees for the Fixed Base Operator Ramps shall be paid in accordance with Section 2 of Amendment No. 1 dated December 19, 1979. 3. Revisions of Plans and Specifications The City and the Engineer agree that the provisions of Section 10, as outlined in Amendment No. 1 dated December 19, 1979, shall remain in full force and effect and shall apply to the Fixed Base Operator Ramps.
