AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937,
APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ,
OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED
FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF
A. C. WHITLOCK BY
AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON
PORTION OF THOS. GALLAGHER 400 -ACRE SURVEY NO. 402,
ABSTR. 988, CONTAINING 3.20 ACRES,
SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY,
TEXAS, FROM "R -1B" ONE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT
TO "I-2" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT
; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS
OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;. AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council
its reports and recommendations concerning the application -of

the City of Corpus Christi;

WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the sane to=ore the
City Council of the City of Corps Christi,in accordance with proper notice
to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday,
March 4, 1981 , at Special Council Meeting of the
City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi;
and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided
by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would
best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare
of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of recprd
in Volume 9, Pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution Records,1as
amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No.16106,
as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by making the change hereinafter
set out.

SECTION 2. That the zoning of the hereinafter more fully described
parcel or tract of land, consisting of 3.20+acres of land out of that
certain 11.00 acre tract out of the Thos_ Gallagher 400 -acre Survey No. 402,
Abstract 988, in Nueces County, Texas, be changed from"R-1B" One Family
Dwelling District to "I-2" Light Industrial District, said portion being more
particularly described as follows:
Being a 3.20 acre tract or parcel of land, more or less,
out of that certain 11.00 acre tract out of the Thos.
Gallagher 400 -acre Survey No. 402, Abstract 988 (reference.
deed volume 209, page 587),Nueces County, Texas:
BEGENNING at the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 1, South Clarkwood
Acres, a map of which is recorded in Volume 6, Page 121, Map Records of
Nueces County, Texas for the Southeast corner of said 11.00 acre tract and
the Southeast corner of this tract from which corner the Southeast corner
of said Survey No. 402 bears South 00°43'00" East 3099.62 feet and South
89°22'00" East 1477.78 feet;
THENCE South 89°2.2'00" West, with the South boundary line of said 11.00
acre tract, along the North line of said Lot 1,B1ock 1, 180.00 feet, more or
less, to its intersection with the present city limits line, same being the
proposed Northeast right-of-way line of Saratoga (extension) Boulevard (120.00
feet wide) for the Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE Northwesterly, with the proposed Northeast right-of-way line of
Saratoga Boulevard, along the present city Iimits line, 527.00 feet, more or
less, to a point on the North boundary line of said 11.00 acre tract, same
being the South line of the Soliz 5.00 acre tract for the Northwest corner of
this tract;
THENCE North' -'89'22'00" East, with the common boundary line of said 11.00
acre tract and said 5.00 acre tract, 555.00 feet, more or less, to a point for
the Southeast corner of said 5.00 acre tract and the Northeast corner of said
11.00 acre tract for the Northeast corner -of this tract;
THENCE South 00°43'00" East, with the East boundary line of said 11.00
acre tract, 382.12 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING_
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City .of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937,.asamended
from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and
effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That the necessity of immediately making aforesaid
change for the purpose of maintaining at all times a comprehensive zoning,
ordinance for the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an
imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduc-
tion and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency
and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule
and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and take effect and be in full force and effect from andafterits passage,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend'
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
