HomeMy WebLinkAbout16108 ORD - 03/11/1981AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO THE CONTRACT WITH B & E CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR IMPROVE- MENTS TO TIMBERGROVE LANE WHICH PROVIDES FOR THE EXTENSION OF WHITE OAK AND BIRDWOOD LANES; APPROPRIATING $8,354.23 OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220-77-2.18, TIMBERGROVE LAND IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 to the contract with B & E Construction Company for improvements to Timbergrove Lane which provides for the extension of White Oak and Birdwood Lanes, all as more fully set forth in said Change Order, a sub- stantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund the sum of $8,354.23 applicable to Project No. 220-77-2.18, Timbergrove Lane Improvements. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid change order and the appropriation of said sums at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /% day of March, 1981. (If left -off the plans and specifications, explain why.) Length of pavement curb and gutter and sidewalk was increased at the request of abutting property owners. Eighteen inch R.C.P. at Fleetwoodis-requiredto intercept -ditch flow which cannot be diverted into inlets by overland flow.
