HomeMy WebLinkAbout16127 RES - 03/18/1981r A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF ERNEST BRIONES TO THE OFFICE OF DEPUTY CITY MANAGER AND CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENTS OF L. W. HENNINGS, JAMES K. LONTOS AND W. THOMAS UTTER TO THE OFFICE OF ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER, BY THE CITY MANAGER, PUR- SUANT TO CITY CHARTER ARTICLE III, SECTION 3; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ernest Briones, appointed to the office of Deputy City Manager, and that L. W. Hennings, James K. Lontos and W. Thomas Utter, appointed to the position of Assistant City Manager by the City Manager, pur- suant to City Charter Article III, Section 3, are hereby confirmed. SECTION 2. The necessity for confirming the appointments hereinabove set forth at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and imper- ative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this resolution be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED, this the 18th day of March, 1981.
