AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL 1 IN CONNEC-
TION WITH THE CABANISS ACRES STREET IMPROVEMENTS,
DORADO STREET TO HOLLY ROAD; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE
162 FEDERAL -STATES GRANT FUND, PROJECT N0.162-4744-501,
ACTIVITY 4744, CODE 501, THE SUM OF $562, OF WHICH $350
IS FOR ACQUISITION AND $212 IS FOR INCIDENTAL COSTS
RELATED TO CLOSING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:

SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute documents
necessary for the acquisition of Parcel 1 in connection with the Cabaniss Acres
Street Improvements, Dorado Street to Holly Road, said parcel being more
particularly described as follows:
Being a tract of land out of Lot 2, Section 7,
Bohemian Colony Lands as shown by map of record
in Volume A, Page 48, Map Records, Nueces County,
Texas, and more particularly described by metes
and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a point being the most northerly
corner of abovementioned Lot 2;
Thence S. 61 degrees 30' 00" E., along the north-
easterly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 25.0
feet to a point;
Thence S. 29 degrees 00' 00" W., along a line that
is 25.0 feet southeast of and parallel to the north-
westerly line of Lot 2, a distance of 89.0 feet to
a point;
Thence N. 61 degrees 30' 00" W., along a line, a
distance of 25.0 feet to a point on the northwesterly
line of Lot 2;
Thence N. 29 degrees 00' 00" E., along the north-
westerly line of Lot 2, a distance of 89.0 feet to
the point of beginning and containing 0.051 acres,
more or less.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the 162 Federal -
States Grant Fund, Project No. 162-4744-501, Activity 4744, Code 501, the sum
of $562 of which $350 is for acquisition and $212 is for incidental costs
related to closing.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize acquisition of the afore-
mentioned parcel or tract of land for the project described creates a public
emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the

date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared
that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of 1
the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
