HomeMy WebLinkAbout16205 ORD - 04/29/1981rt .z jkh:4 29-811st • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A MONTH-TO-MONTH LEASE AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES, INC., FOR SPACE IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL BUILDING AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE LEASE AGREEMENT, SETTING FORTH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE LEASE AGREEMENT, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a month-to-month lease agreement with American Airlines, Inc., for space in the International Arrival Building at the Corpus Christi International Airport, all as more fully set forth in the lease agreement, setting forth the terms and conditions of the lease agreement, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid lease agreement in order that_the airline may commence operations in the International Arrival Building at the Corpus Christi International Airport at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an impera- tive public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor or Council Members, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the o25( day of April, 1981. The City hereby agrees to rent space.in the International Arrival Building au the Corpus Christi International Airport to American Airlines, Inc., from date of occupancy on a month to month basis until leases with airline tenants are executed The porton to be rented in more fully described on the attached map, marked A 7vbibit uA.'s ..,hich contains approximately 623 square feet. 2. American Airlines agrees to pay a rental amount of $7.83 per square foot per year payable monthly in the amount of $406.50 to the airport manager at his office in Nueces County, Texas. )9E1.
