AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A MONTH-TO-MONTH
LEASE WITH METROFLIGHT, INC. FOR UTILIZATION OF SPACE IN
THE INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL BUILDING AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS
AND CONDITIONS AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE LEASE AGREE-
MENT, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND
MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a month-to-month lease with Metroflight, Inc., for utilization of
space in the International Arrival Building at the Corpus Christi International
Airport, all in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the
lease agreement, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made
a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid
lease agreement in order that the airline may commence operations in the
Arrival Building,at the Corpus Christi International Airport at the earliest
practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public neces-
sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolu-
tion shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such
ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings, and the
Mayor or Council Members, having declared that such emergency and necessity
exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect
and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
SO ORDAINED, this the o2q day of April, 1981.

LEASE AGREEMENT

WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi, acting by and through its
duly authorized City Manager, R. Marvin Townsend, does hereby agree with
Metroflight, Inc. to amend the agreement approved April 1, 1981 by ordin-
ance 16165 as follows:
1. The City hereby agrees to rent space in the International
Arrival Building at the Corpus Christi International Airport to Metro -
flight, Inc. from date of occupancy on a month to month basis until all
airline leases are approved. The portion to be rented is more fully ',-
described on the attached map, marked Exhibit "A" which contains 122
square feet.
2. Metroflight, Inc. agrees to pay a rental amount of $0.6525
per square foot per month payable monthly in the amount of $79.61 to
the airport manager at his office in Nueces County, Texas.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date
it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
