HomeMy WebLinkAbout16220 ORD - 05/06/1981AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 TO THE CONTRACT WITA W.T. YOUNG CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CABANISS ACRES AREA STREET AND DRAINAGE ..IMPROVEMENTS WHICH PROVIDES FOR THE WIDENING OF FREDERICK DRIVE AT AYERS STREET; APPROPRIATING $8,273.89 OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND FOR THE CHANGE ORDER APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220-77-2.13, CABANISS ACRES STREET IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 2 to the contract with W. T. Young Construction Company for the construction of the Cabaniss Acres Area Street and Drainage Improvements which provides for the widening of Frederick Drive at Ayers Street, as more fully set forth in said Change Order No. 2, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund the sum of $8,273.89 for the said change order, applicable to Project No. 220-77-2.13, Cabaniss Acres Street Improvements. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the change order and appropriation of the sums for the purposes set forth hereinabove creates a public emergency and necessity requiring tipsuspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor or Council members, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the sus- pension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction take effect and be in full force and effect frokand after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the 47 day of May, 1981.
