HomeMy WebLinkAbout16238 ORD - 05/13/1981AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF MISCELLANEOUS SHOP EQUIP- MENT FOR THE TRANSIT DIVISION, AS PROVIDED IN THE 1975 UMTA CAPITAL GRANT PROJECT NO. TX -03-0020 FOR $47,700; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 218 TRANSIT BOND FUND FOR PROJECT NO. 218-72-2, TRANSIT SYSTEM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS (1975), AN AMOUNT OF $47,700 FOR THE SAID PURCHASES: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given for the purchase of miscellaneous Transit Division shop equipment for $47,700, as provided for in the 1975 UMTA Capital Grant Project No. TX -03-0020. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 218 Transit Bond Fund for Project No. 218-72-2, Transit System Capital Improve- ments (1975), the amount of $47,700 for the purchase of said miscellaneous shop equipment. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the contracts and to provide the necessary funds for the purchase of said Transit Division shop equipment creates an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor or Council Members, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of May, 1981.
