AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
1976 REVISION, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING ARTICLE II, MARINA,
SECTION 12-61, 'RATES AND RENTAL FEES FOR USE OF SLIPS AND
DOCK SPACE SCHEDULE AND REGULATIONS"; INCREASING SLIPS
RATES TO FIVE CENTS (5¢) PER SQUARE FOOT PER MONTH, ESTAB-
LISHING A RATE FOR CHARTER BOATS 21 TIMES THE STANDARD'RATE,
AND ADDING AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) PER
MONTH ON SLIPS CONTAINING OUT -OF -CITY RESIDENCE SLIP TENANTS
SPECIFICALLY AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13889, SECTION 1, PARA-
GRAPH (2), (a) THROUGH (e) and (g), PASSED AND APPROVED BY
THE CITY COUNCIL ON AUGUST 17, 1976; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
_ DATE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Amending the Code of Ordinances, City of 'Corpus Christi,
1976 Revision, as amended, by amending Article II, Marina, Section 12-61 'Rates
and Rental Fees for Use of Slips and Dock Space -Schedule and Regulations";
increasing slip rates to five cents (50 per square foot per month; specifically
amending ordinance No. 13889, Section 1, Paragraph (2), (a) through (e) and (g),
passed and approved by the City Council on August 17, 1977, -by cancelling para-
graphs (2), (a) through (e'), and (g), and add the following:
"Section 12-61. Rates and Rental fees for use of slips and dockage _
space - schedule and regulations".
(2) The monthly rate and rental fee for boat slips in the Corpus
Christi Marina shall be five (5¢) per square foot per month, determined by mul-
tiplying the rate times the square foot of the slip. The minimum rate for all
slips less than 430 square feet shall be $21.50. A limited amount of tap water_
is included in this rate. The monthly rate for charter boat slips is established
at 21/2 times the standard rate, determined by multiplying the standard rate by 2'
times and then multiplying the resultant rate times the square foot of the slip
assigned. Ten Dollars ($10.00) per month additional charge shall be placed on
slips rented to parties who do not maintain a primary permanent residence in
the City. In addition, an electricity surcharge will be added to the monthly
charge determined by the length of craft within a slip, as follows:
$1.00 for craft up to twenty (20) feet in length
$3.50 for craft between twenty (20) and thirty (30) feet in length
$8.50 for craft between thirty (30) and forty (40) feet in length
$17.00 for craft over forty (40) feet in length;

Meters shall be installed by the City to determine if the $17.00 surcharge is
adequate; where an increase in service above $17.00 exists, actual usage will
be applied. In addition, Charter Boat tenants shall obtain their own source
of electricity and, at their own expense, make any connections required by the
power company and pay for such usage of electricity.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or part of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflicts.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall
not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of the City Council
that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision
hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be effective from and after June 1,
1981, except for the charter boat rates which shall be effective from and
after July 1, 1981.
SECTION 5. Publication shall be made one time in the official publi-
cation of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this ordi-
nance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.

moved and
seconded the motion that he ordinance proposing to amend the Code of
Ordinances, Article II, MARINA, Section 12-61, Rates and Rental Fees for Use
of Slips and Dockage Space - Schedule and Regulations, read on the first
of three readings on May 6, 1981, be amended prior to the second reading
by making the following changes:
1. Changing the wording in the fifth sentence that now reads:
"Ten Dollars ($10.00) per month additional charges shall be placed on
slips rented to out -of -city slip tenants that do not pay Corpus Christi,
Texas, personal property taxes" to hereafter read as follows:
"Ten Dollars ($10.00) per month additional charge shall be placed
on slips rented to parties who do not maintain a primary permanent residence in
the City".
