ORTIZ ASPHALT PAVING OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR PAVEMENT REPAIRS TO THE CORPUS CHRISTI MARINA (T -HEADS AND L -HEAD); APPROPRIATING $186,000 OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND, OF WHICH $181,261.77 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $4,738.23 IS FOR CONTINGENCIES, INCIDENTAL AND RELATED EXPENSES APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 291-77-13, MARINA PAVEMENT REPAIRS - HURRICANE ALLEN, OF WHICH•AMOUNT $38,819.83 IS TO BE REIMBURSED BY THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute a con- tract with A. Ortiz Asphalt Paving of Corpus Christi for pavement repairs to the Corpus Christi Marina (T -Heads and L -Head), all as more fully set forth in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part herof by refe- rence and according to the bid of A. Ortiz Asphalt Paving of Corpus Christi, opened on May 13, 1981, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 291 Park Bond Fund the sum of $186,000, of which $181,261.77 is for the construc- tion contract and $4,738.23 is for contingencies, incidental and related expenses applicable to Project No. 291-77-13, Marina Pavement Repairs - Hurricane Allen, of which amount of $38,819.83 is to be reimbursed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the necessary sums to enable commencement of the project at the earliest practicable date creates a public necessity requir- ing the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor or Council members, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT MICROFILMED SEP 2 rY 1.004 1627i it IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 2,7 day of May, 1981.
