AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO.
8 TO THE CONTRACT WITH M &,M CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CORPUS' CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
WHICH PROVIDES FOR REPAIR OF ELECTRICAL DUCT WORK, ALL
AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE CHANGE ORDER, A SUBSTANTIAL
COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE APART HEREOF,
MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; APPROPRIATING $1,001 OUT OF THE NO.
245 AIRPORT BOND FUND FOR THE AFORESAID CHANGE ORDER,
APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 245-77-2, AIRPORT PARKING LOT,
LOOP ROAD AND ACCESS ROAD; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to
execute Change Order No. 8 to the contract with M & M Construction Company
for improvements to the Corpus Christi International Airport which provides
for repair of electrical duct work, all as more fully set forth in the change
order, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof,
marked Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $1,001 out
of the No. 245 Airport Bond Fund for the aforesaid change order, applicable
to Project No. 245-77-2, Airport Parking Lot, Loop Road and Access Road.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid
change order and to appropriate the sums necessary to accomplish the work
contemplated under said change order so that the project may proceed without
delay creates an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor or Council members,
having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the
suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the -3 day of June,
1981.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, but that such ordinance or resolution shall•be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date
it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
