HomeMy WebLinkAbout16285 ORD - 06/03/19817_3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3658, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 250 CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR ALL POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE BY ESTABLISHING CERTAIN POSITION TITLES, CODES AND CLASS GRADES AND BY CHANGING CERTAIN POSITION TITLES, CODES AND CLASS GRADES; PROVIDING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 3658, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 250, Classification Plan for All Positions in the Classified Service, by amending Subsection 251, General Administration and Clerical, by reclassifying the grades and changing applicable class titles of the following positions: GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND CLERICAL Class Code Class Title Class Grade 105 From: Clerk -Stenographer From: 12 To: Stenographer To: 14 108 From: Senior Clerk -Steno- From: 14 grapher I To: Secretary To: 16 111 From: Senior Clerk -Steno- From: 16 grapher II To: Senior Secretary To: 18 112 --- Executive Secretary From: 18 To: 20 and by changing the following position titles: Class Code Class Title Class Grade 103 From: Clerk -Typist 8 To: Clerk -Typist I 107 From: Senior Clerk -Typist 12 To: Clerk -Typist II and by adding the following position class code, class title and class grade: Class Code Class Title Class Grade 100 Clerk -Typist III 14 SECTION 2. The effective date of the above changes shall be from and after the passage of this ordinance. SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or SEP 2 71984 16285 MICRUkluvit1. unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivison, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 4. The necessity to maintain at all times an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor or Council members, having declared that such necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the—3 day of June, 1981.
