HomeMy WebLinkAbout16305 ORD - 06/10/1981AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SUPPLEMENT NUMBER ONE TO THE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES, INC. FOR SPACE IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL BUILDING AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN SUPPLEMENT NUMBER ONE, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A-1"; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute supplement number one to the lease agreement with American Airlines, Inc., for space in the International Arrival Building at the Corpus Christi International Airport, all as more fully set forth in the supplement number one, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A-1". SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid lease agreement in order thatthe airline may commence operations in the International Arrival Building at the Corpus Christi International Airport at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor or Council Members, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this IMAM the lo day of .Ma', 1981. BRUCEA Y OQOVVx, CITY TY ATTORNEY By City jJttorney 16305 THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS MLCBREILMEEL ISEP 'r 1984 STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF NUECES The City of Corpus Christi and American Airlines agree to supplement the lease agreement pertaining to lease of space in the International Arrival Building dated and approved by Ordinance No. 16205 to read as follows: - In order for American Airlines to utilize Gate No. 6, the City of Corpus Christi rents to American Airlines an additional 1,392 square feet of space in the International Arrival Building as shown on attached Exhibit "A-1" to be used on a non-exclusive basis for holding arriving or departing passen- gers. Gatehouses number 3 and 4 will be available for use by American when there are no conflicts in flight arrivals or departures. American is hereby authorized to make necessary temporary changes to Gatehouse 6 and to construct a security fence along the concourse as may be required, all at the sole expense of American. All temporary security improvements shall be removed by American when permanent installations are made. Rentals shall be calculated at the rate of $7.83 per square foot per year, payable monthly in the amount of $908.33 to the airport manager at his office in Nueces County, Texas.
