AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING FROM THE NO. 263 MUSEUM BOND FUND THE
SUM OF $27,000 FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI
MUSEUM BUDGET; AMENDING THE BUDGET OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI
MUSEUM SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR CONTINUATION OF THE SALARY
OF FRED ORCHARD, ARTIST AND TEMPORARY ASSOCIATE CURATOR,
FROM JUNE 15, 1981 THROUGH JULY 31, 1982;4OR THE PUR-
POSE OF COMPLETION OF ILLUSTRATIVE ART WORK IN EXHIBITS
AND IN THE EXHIBIT AREA, PROJECT NO. 263-77-1, CORPUS
CHRISTI MUSEUM --COMPLETION OF EXHIBIT SPACE IN THE NORTH
BUILDING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated from the No. 263
Museum Bond Fund the sum of $27,000 for reimbursement of the Corpus Christi
Museum Budget.
SECTION 2. That the budget of the Corpus.Christi Museum be amended
so as to provide for continuation of the salary of Fred Orchard, artist and
temporary Associate Curator (Grade 29) at the Corpus Christi Museum for the
purpose of completing illustrative art work in exhibits and in theExhibits
Area,Idesignated as Project No. 263-77-1, Corpus Christi Museum --Completion
of Exhibit Space in the North Building.
SECTION 3. The necessity to immediately appropriate the sums
hereinabove set forth in order that the exhibits and Exhibit -Space in the
North Building of the Corpus Christi Museum may be completed without delay
creates a public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor or Council members, having declared
that such necessity exists, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule
and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and
take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /7 day of June, 1981.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date
it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
