HomeMy WebLinkAbout16371 ORD - 07/08/1981ls:7-7-81;lst Ct AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE AMENDED LEASE AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 16183, PASSED AND APPROVED ON APRIL 8, 1981, BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND FEDERAL EXPRESS CORPORATION, WHEREBY THE SAID FEDERAL EXPRESS CORPORATION LEASED APPROXIMATELY 110 SQUARE FEET OF SPACE (ROOM 102), IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL BUILDING ON A MONTH-TO-MONTH BASIS FOR A MONTHLY RENT OF $70.13, BY SUBSTITUTING A NEW EXHIBIT "A", TO INDICATE LEASE OF ROOM 111 INSTEAD OF ROOM 102; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the amended lease authorized by Ordinance No. 16183, approved by the City Council on April 8, 1981, between the City of Corpus Christi and Federal Express Corporation, whereby the said Federal Express Corporation leased Room 102 containing approximately 110 square feet of space, in the In- ternational Arrival Building at the Corpus Christi International Airport, on a month-to-month basis for a monthly rent of $70.13, be amended by substituting a new Exhibit "A", to indicate lease of Room 111 instead of Room 102. SECTION 2. The necessity to further amend the Federal Express Corporation lease with the City at the earliest practicable date in order to reflect corrected lease description creates a public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor or Council members, having declared that such necessity exists, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, ATTEST: ty Secretary( APPROVED: U DAY OF JULY, 1981: J. Marvin Townsend by authority of Ordinance No. 15813, passed and approved by the City Council on October 8, 1980, authorized an agreement with Federal Express Corporation for use of a portion of the Terminal Building at the Corpus Christi International Airport, said agreement to commence May 1, 1980, on a month-to-month basis; and WHEREAS, the parties to the aforesaid agreement agreed to amend the aforesaid agreement, as approved by Ordinance No. 16183, dated April 8, 1981; and WHEREAS, the parties desire to further amend the agreement as follows: 1. The City.hereby agrees to rent space in the International Arrival Building at the Corpus Christi International Airport to Federal Express Corporation from May 1, 1981 through August 7, 1981. The portion to be rented is more fully described on the attached map, marked Exhibit "A", which area is designated as Room 111. Except as herein and hereby amended, the terms, conditions and agreements heretofore entered into by and between the City and Federal Express shall remain in full force and effect.
