AN ORDINANCE
4
AMENDING THE PLATTING ORDINANCE NO. 4168, AS AMENDED,
BY AMENDING SECTION V, SUBSECTION B -5(a), TO REQUIRE
WATER SUPPLY LINE EXTENSIONS AND PAYMENT INTO THE
WATER MAIN EXTENSION TRUST FUND WHEN SUPPLY LINES ARE
IN PLACE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Section V, Subsection B -5(a) of the Platting
Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, No. 4168, as amended, be amended to
hereinafter read as follows:
"(a) Where an approved treated water supply main of sufficient
capacity as determined by the Water Superintendent is available within one
(1) mile of the property being platted, irrespective of location within or
without the City, each lot within the subdivided area shall be provided with
access to such water supply by the construction of an extension of the water
supply main from the existing terminus of such main to the property to be
developed. When a proposed subdivision is adjacent to an existing water
supply main in order for the subdivision to gain access into the water supply
system, the developer of the subdivision will be required to make a payment
into the Water Main Extension Trust Fund in an amount equal to one-half the
cost of the main extension, which would otherwise be required, along that
portion of the property which is adjacent to the existing supply main. Pay-
ment will be required for adjacent water supply mains up to and including a
12 -inch main. No cost will be incurred by the adjacent developer for sizing
in excess of a 12 -inch water supply main. Such cost shall be based upon
current prices at the time of final platting of the property of such material
and construction as determined by the Director of Engineering and Physical
Development. The water system shall be designed in accordance with Distri-
bution System Standards published by the Water Division, Corpus Christi,
Texas, hereby approved and adopted, and by this reference incorporated here-
in for all purposes, and on file in the Office of the City Secretary. Any
change to said standards may be approved by ordinance of the Council and will

be effective thirty ('30) days after publication of the substance or summary
of said change in a newspaper of general publication and filed for record
with the City Secretary. The applicable standards shall be those in effect
at the time of commencement of water system construction."
