AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION
TO THE STATE OF TEXAS FOR A GRANT FOR TITLE XX TO PRO-
VIDE SERVICES FOR INCOME ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS IN
NUECES COUNTY AND TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT AND ALL NECES-
SARY DOCUMENTS TO CARRY OUT SUCH PROGRAM, AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to submit an application to the Texas Department of Human Resources for
a Title XX Grant to provide Family Planning services for income eligible
participants in Nueces County, and to execute a contract and all necessary
documents to carry out such programa
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to
the public need for the above funds and services as soon as possible, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the
Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions
at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passd and shall take
effect u n first reading as an emergency =measure this 29day of
, 1981.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or resolution,
an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings;_I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance or resolution finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
