AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3658, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING
SECTION 250 CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR ALL POSITIONS IN
THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE, BY ESTABLISHING AND BY CHANG-
ING CERTAIN POSITION TITLES, CODES AND CLASS GRADES;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATES;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No'.' 3658, as amended, be and the same
is hereby amended by amending Subsection 257 Labor and Trades, by reclassi-
fying the following position grades and one applicable title as indicated,
effective September 21, 1981:

SECTION 2. That Subsection 257 Labor and Trades be further
amended by reclassifying and changing the title of the following positiony
effective September 21, 1981:

SECTION 3. That Subsection 253 Engineering and Sciences be
amended by removing the position class title and grade from Subsection
253 and adding the same to Subsection 257 Labor and Trades with the title
change and class code, effective July 27, 1981, as follows:

SECTION 9. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivi-
sion, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held
invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent
jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivi-
sion, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is
the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph,
subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full
force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 10. The effective date of the above changes shall be
as set forth hereinabove.
SECTION 11. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to
the need for maintaining efficient administration of City affairs, such
finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of
the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances or reso-
lutions at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and
shall take fect upon first reading as an emergency measure this 2?

an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting

introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
